Motivated by the success of the first Peace Tournament, St. Sabina and Connor Sports joined forces to create the Peace League, which hosted basketball-related activities for the area’s youth on the south side. At the Major Adams Center on the west side of Chicago, at-risk youth were able to play basketball and take part in mentoring programs through the continuing support from the Noah’s Arc Foundation. All of this activity culminated with a successful return of the Chicago Peace Tournament to St. Sabina and the resulting efforts to provide jobs and education once again opened up opportunities for youth in the area.
“The basketball court for me, during a game, is the most peaceful place I can imagine.”
